Handy dough

A 47 year-old “crippled” British runner who competed regularly in marathons was receiving thousands of pounds of invalidity pension money, has been sentenced to 10 months of prison.

Paul Appleby pretended he could not walk without crutches and was often confined to a wheelchair order to obtain 22,000 pounds (33.470 euros) between 2001 and 2005. At the same time he was registered with the Nottingham Athletics Club and even ran the London marathon in 2006 in a very respectable 3 hours and 37 minutes!

Probably everyone who reads this will first laugh out loud at the audacity. How did he live with his conscience? Perhaps they should make him partake in the wheelchair category in the next London marathon or complete the event with crutches and see how well he makes out!
