(OTTAWA) – Dana Ellis from Kitchener, ON and Jared MacLeod of Winnipeg, MB will both compete at the 11th IAAF World Indoor Championships in Moscow Russia, March 10-12th. Ellis will compete in the pole vault while MacLeod will be in the 60 metre hurdles. Both Ellis and MacLeod were named last week to Athletics Canada’s XVIII Commonwealth Games team.

Dana Ellis won the Gold medal at the 2005 Canadian Track and Field Championships setting a new Canadian record of 4.51 metres in the pole vault. She finished tied for 6th at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.

Jared MacLeod, ranked 2nd in Canada in the 110 metre hurdles, recently finished 2nd at the Jeux de la Francophonie in Niamy, Niger. MacLeod was the bronze medallist at the 2005 Canadian Championships.

Following the World Indoors in Russia, Ellis and MacLeod will both head to Melbourne Australia for the XVIII Commonwealth Games.
