Ottawa – Athletics Canada is pleased to announce that the Lafarge International Track Classic in Abbotsford, British-Columbia, taking place on June 10, will play host to the 2007 Canadian 10,000-metres Championship.
The 2006 championships, also held in Abbotsford, saw Tara Quinn-Smith come away with the women’s Canadian title and Scott Simpson was crowned men’s Canadian champion. The men’s finish was one to remember with Simpson, Mark Bomba and Jerry Ziak finishing one, two, three in a span of less then one-second.
The Lafarge International Track Classic is part of the PacifiCanada Series which includes the Harry Jerome International Track Classic and the Victoria International Track Classic. The city of Abbotsford will play host again on July 27-29 with Athletics Canada’s 2007 Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships hosted by the Valley Royals Track and Field Club.
