Sleep deprived - to run or not to run?

As a family father, three kids, not too seldom my nights and sleeping conditions are not optimal, to say the least. Often I plan a run the following day, but end up skipping the particular workout because of a night with poor sleep.

My question is, what is more beneficial i such situations; to go for the planned run anyway, or try to catch up lost sleep? A typical situation is a night of 6 (5 hours in some cases) hour of sleep, which for me is at least one hour too little.

Views, anyone?
