Hi The Ed

Sort of following the half marathon programme, but I don't really need such long runs.

My first race is an Aquathon 30th March 2014 - 500m swim, followed by 5k run.

Kind regards

Sal

Hi The Ed

I'm after some advice please. I've been following the programmes for a while and had some great success. My husband has a marathon planned for much later in the year and I wonder if he is able to use them as well or if they are only suitable to race up to a half. The has completed 3 marathons already so has some experience. His times have been 4:20. 4:10 and 4:02. He would like to get under 4 hours.

Kind regards

Hi Sal, get hubby to register (contact me if he wants an account) and I shall process it .. get him to read this: http://www.time-to-run.com/theed/ab/...gs-into-basket

this is the story regarding AB who used the 10k programs in their build up to the marathon

hope this helps to kick things off

Hi The Ed

Been a long while since I have posted.

Absolutely over the moon - yesterday I ran my first 10k in 2 years and so pleased I managed a 3min 41sec PB.

PB is now 51:12, so getting ever closer to sub 50 minute 10k.

So great to know that in 2 years having moved out of my 30's and into my 40's I can still get quicker

I've got my weight down to 51kg (I'm only 5' 3") and done loads of strength and core work, so now's the time to get back to the programmes over the summer.

Based on my 10k time above, what would you suggest as the target 2k and 1k reps target pace.

(I shocked myself when I looked back at the results on my garmin. My 1k split at 7k mark was 4mins 47secs - I never run a 1k speed rep that fast before, let alone in the middle of a race, so no idea where that came from!)

Speak soon

Sal

Hi The Ed

2 k Reps done today. Not quite on target time, but not too bad:

1 - 9:54
2 - 9:54
3 - 10:02

Lets see how the 1k Reps go

Kind regards
