NZ New Zealand Half Marathon Championship

Entries for New Zealand Half Marathon Championship and Auckland Marathon now open

Entries for this year’s races on Sunday 30 October opened on Friday 8th April.
Managing Director, Stephen Brown believes that the strong interest from previous years will continue.

“The half marathon and full marathon have sold out for the last five years and in 2010 reached capacity is just five weeks,” said Brown.
“The level of interest has been unprecedented for a major running event in
New Zealand and testament to the quality of the adidas Auckland Marathon event,” he added.

Athletics New Zealand strongly advises members wishing to enter the 2011 Athletics New Zealand Half Marathon championships to act quickly to secure a start in the event. To be eligible to contest the half marathon championships, athletes must be registered members of Athletics New Zealand through their club prior to race day and complete the relevant championships section of the entry process.

Athletics New Zealand and the adidas Auckland Marathon are not in a position to reserve entries for runners wishing to enter the NZ Half Marathon Championships.

If you intend competing ensure you enter early to avoid disappointment. Entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. As Stephen Brown says the event sold out in just five weeks in 2010 and it is expected that this year’s entries will reach capacity earlier.

To enter go to the Auckland Marathon website: aucklandmarathon.co.nz/
