it goes like this Hector and this is when the mind has got to keep it together

the heat of the day the accumulation of the marathon training all begins to add up

this is when the PLANNED rest assists and benefits the hard work done

you will be fine keep positive

TheEd
ps.. for the ankle also focus on the calf muscles, make sure they are loose as they assist in stabilising the ankles

Weekend long run

Hi. Today did a 22 k run in 1h 59 min. Last four k ran at 4:58, 4:58, 4:59 and 4:57. It was very hard, wasn't able to increase the speed anymore.

Cheers.

1 hour easy run

Hi TheEd. Did a 10k easy run this morning. I have a tight left calf since sunday. Stretched it afterwards, but keeps a little tight.

Rgds.

Hi TheEd. Didn't run since last tuesday, trying to improve from my calf. Today did a 13k run, last 3 k in around 4:45 min/k, but my left calf seems to have worsened. I'm very worried about. I keep on icing and elevating.

Rgds.

hector I truthfully dislike marathon training as it can produce so many problems

you have to get the calf muscle fixed before stressing it and if you do run then you don't run 13km with the last bit faster

you do light running without trying to test the calf

hope it all works out

Yes I know. It was a mistake. I'm normally a reflective person, but this time I got carried away...

1st. Marathon

Hi TheEd, completed my first marathon in 3h 46min. 37 secs. This is what I could do, maybe too quick at the beginning (around 1h 45 the first half, I was feeling it pretty easy), then from around 27 k I begin to slow down, and quite badly in the last 12. Maybe I should prepare it a little more the next time.

Regards,

Héctor
