Berlin, Germany - Haile Gebrselassie will again return to the real,- Berlin Marathon, which is an IAAF Gold Label Race to be held on 28 September.
It was last year at Germany’s number one marathon event, where the Ethiopian set the current world record of 2:04:26. Gebrselassie had already won the Berlin Marathon in 2005 with 2:05:56, which was the fastest time of the year in 2006. His goal for this year’s race will be to break 2:04 hours for the first time. The 35-year-old had opted against running the Olympic marathon and will instead run the 10,000 m in Beijing. This year Gebrselassie has run the fastest time of the year so far once again. The Ethiopian had won the Dubai Marathon in January with 2:04:53, which is the second fastest ever run.
