Jolanda Ceplak tests positive for EPO

This week has been a week to remember in the sporting world with drug busts taking centre stage.

This week has been a week to remember in the sporting world with drug busts taking centre stage.

The latest casualty on the athletic front has been Jolande Ceplak of Slovenia. The 1.55.19 800m runner has been suspended for 2 years due to the positive test of EPO

Unfortunately, this athlete has not been without suspicion in the past and therefore what has taken place comes as no surprise however after a week of the Tour de France debacle everything is now compounded.

The sad reality is that this very athlete, Ceplak, is representative on the Athletes Commission for both the IAAF and European Athletics. Whereas we do not want to have to accuse every athlete we do feel both bodies could have exercised more caution before granting this position to athletes.

A lesson worth learning.

Ceplak the latest in a week of scandal

All rather distressing, yet at the same time it shows us that the officials are now doing the job needed to protect the future of the sport.
