Recently the Finnish based Ismo Huumonen was confronted with the sad realisation that he had been diagnosed with arthritis.

This had led for Ismo Huumonen to consider all various forms of treatment as well as the hope that the diagnosis may be incorrect. Considering that Ismo was reaching new levels with his fitness and that he had recently covered 3km during the Cooper's Test one would think that Ismo Huumonen was going to become a well known name in Finnish Veteran athletics circles when he moved up to the over 45 age group.

Huumonen is a proud name which has been associated to sport for many a year and Ismo has now been advised to partake in sports which are not weight bearing. We have recommended to Ismo that he consider doing water running to aid his desire to stay fit while avoiding the possibility of harming his leg further.'

To Ismo Huumonen the very idea that he would not be allowed to participate in weight bearing sports for the fear of aggravating the situation is like a  sentence more appreciated by  sedentary  people half Ismo's age.

We at Time-to-Run hope to use the resources at our disposal to further aid Ismo Huumonen to maybe realise his dream of competing as a veteran athlete and to still improve.

With the various advancements in sports medicine and injury treatment an athlete such as Ismo does not have to fear the onset of age.

We at Time-to-Run hope that Ismo Huumonen gets to realise his dream of full recovery
