Ten athletes have been pre-selected to the 2010 World Cross Country Championships to be held in Poland next March.
The selections are: Kimberley Smith, Fiona Crombie, Kellie Palmer and Sarah Biss senior women, Andrew Davidson, Edwin Henshaw and Kim Hogarth senior men, Aaron Pulford junior men, and Danielle Trevis and Olivia Burne junior women.
Hannah Newbould was unavailable for selection in the junior women as she is concentrating on the World Junior Track and Field Championships. Apart from Smith the runners have been pre-selected based on performances at the New Zealand cross country championships.
Smith performed with distinction at this year's world cross country championships in Jordan finishing 13th in the senior women and at the 2005 championships in France she was 12th.
The championships will be held in Bydgoszcz Poland on 27 March.
The final composition of the team will be made after a cross country trial to be held in Wellington on 30 January. source
