Indoors : Adere Breaks Indoor 5,000 Mark posted 31 Jan
STUTTGART, Germany - Ethiopia's Berhane Adere broke the indoor world record in the women's 5,000 meters on Saturday. She finished in 14 minutes, 39.29 seconds, winning by more than eight seconds at an international meet. Adere, the 10,000 outdoor world champion, bettered the mark of 14:47.35 set by Romania's Gabriela Szabo in 1999.
