Balmoral:

2004 season over the mile. Freda came third in the same race
last year finishing ahead of Hayley Tullet the World 1500m
Bronze Medallist in 2004.
· Sonia O'Sullivan fresh home after her amazing
opener in California will also compete in Balmoral but in
the 5K.

in the same race. This will be Marias first international
race since her fantastic performance at the World Indoors

her win in the Park in the BUPA Run and will hope to finish
very high up in the field in the 5K also.
· This weekend is an opener for some of our
sprinters too. Paul McKee after a disappointing indoor season
due to injury will race in a British League meeting as will
the promising young athlete Paul Hession. Paul is one of the

well capable of reaching the Olympic A standard.

with the key issues that will face our athletes in Athens.
We want to make sure that athletes are fully prepared in every
way for the games and that no situation occurs that they cannot
handle. By planning in this way we are ensuring that distractions
are avoided and athletes are free to concentrate on what they
do best'.
