USA: Tsiamchyk wins Grandma's Marathon with late pass posted 21/06
DULUTH, Minn. USA -- Belarus' Vladzimir Tsiamchyk passed Luke Metto with about one mile remaining to win in 2:17:59. The Women's division was won by Fira Sultanova-Zhdanova, for the second straight year. Elzbieta Jarosz, of Poland, was second in 2:37:02, 14 seconds ahead of Svetlana Demidenko, of Russia. The wind was a major factor in this event.

Kenya's Joseph Riri wins marathon in Swedish capital posted 07 June
STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- Kenya's Joseph Riri broke away from his only challenger with about a mile remaining and won the Stockholm Marathon in 2:16:12 . Italy's Mostapha Errebah was 2nd for the second straight year, finishing 22 seconds back. Kenya's Rita Jeptoo Sitienei won the women's race in her first marathon start, finishing in 2:35.14. Russia's Svetlana Ponomarenko finished second in 2:42.05.

The second Zurich marathon which drew 7476 registrations and 6038 running participants was the largest marathon event in Switzerland, and thanks to Viktor Röthlin's sensational Swiss record it produced the fastest marathon running time recorded in Switzerland. Röthlin, who came in 14th at the Marathon world championships in Paris, ran the Zurich marathon in 2:09.56 and broke the Swiss marathon record (previously 2:10.54) by almost a minute. | more |

In Paris, Ethiopia's Ambesa Tolosa won in 2:08:56sec to claim his first win over the distance. On the Women's front, Kenya's Salina Kosgei won the women's event in 2:24.32 ahead of Ethiopia's Asha Gigi (2:26.05) and France's Corinne Raux (2:29.19).

Hiroaki Takeda takes low key Beppu win posted 02/02
