Genovese wins Tokyo Women's Marathon posted 22 Nov
Tokyo, Japan - Bruna Genovese of Italy came from behind to win the Tokyo Women's Marathon this morning, Sunday (21 Nov).  Genovese, who was 51 seconds behind at 35Km, passed the leader Ethiopian Elfenesh Alemu at 40.7Km to win with 2:26:34.

Athens Marathon: Frederick Cherono in 2:15:28 posted 08 Nov
Greece: Frederick Cherono led a Kenyan sweep at the Athens Classic Marathon, winning in 2:15:28 Alemu Zinach of Ethiopia won the women's division in 2hr 41min 11sec.

China - Sun Yingjie won the Beijing marathon for the 3rd time in a row which was best described as a training run. Her winning time was a suitable 2:24:11. Sun is only now returning to form after a serious injury to her collarbone last December. The Men's section was won in 2:10:46 by Kenyan James Moiben.

Netherlands - Kenyan Robert Cheboror won the Amsterdam marathon in 2:06:23, ahead of compatriot, and last year's winner, William Kipsang, who was 2nd in 2:08:41. The Women's section was won by Slovenia's Helena Javornik in 2:27:33.

Brussels Marathon: Kelai wins in 2:10:59 posted 13 Oct
BRUSSELS - Kényan John Ekiru Kelai won the Brussels marathon in 2:10:59, ahead of compatriots George Okworo and Matthew Birir on Sunday 10th. The finish was marked with a great deal of confusion.

Eindhoven Marathon: Cheruiyot wins for fourth time posted 10 Oct
Eindhoven, The Netherlands - Kenyan Willy Cheruiyot won in a time of 2:09:20, to take his tally of wins to four. The Women's section was won by Kenya's Anastasia Ndereba won the women's race in 2:36:47, a new race record. Mulu Seboka of Ethiopia was 2nd in 2:37:30. The Women's section was won by Annelieke van der Sluijs (Ned) in 2:37:33

Haile Gebrselassie will run the 29th edition of the ING Amsterdam Marathon on 17 October. It will be the Ethiopian's second start over the marathon distance. Gebrselassie ran his first marathon in London two years ago, finishing third in 2:06:35 behind Khalid Khannouchi (who set a world record of 2:05:38) and Paul Tergat.
