Denisova Sets Course Record at Honolulu Marathon
HONOLULU - (December 10, 2006) - Ambesse Tolossa of Ethiopia broke away from defending champion Jimmy Muindi around the 23 mile mark and won the 34th Honolulu Marathon on Sunday morning, ending a 10-year domination of the race by Kenyan men. Tolossa's time was 2 hours, 13 minutes and 42 seconds. Muindi, who was seeking a record sixth Honolulu victory, was almost a minute behind in 2:14:39.

Kahugu, Jelagat Win New Las Vegas Marathon
LAS VEGAS - (December 10, 2006) - In conditions of cool, clear weather with a start line temperature of 53 degrees, the second annual New Las Vegas Marathon took a dramatic step toward becoming one of the world's top destination marathons. Cheruiyot, Prokopcuka Lead World Marathon Majors Series
NEW YORK - The World Marathon Majors (WMM) leader board saw plenty of movement following Sunday's ING New York City Marathon. Held in near-perfect conditions, women's victor Jelena Prokopcuka of Latvia and a surprise win by Marilson Gomes dos Santos of Brazil on the men's side, saw the former move to the head of the WMM standings, and the latter, install himself in a three-way tie for second with Haile Gebrselassie of Ethiopia and Felix Limo of Kenya.

29 October 2006, Nairobi - Standard Chartered's Greatest Race on Earth (GROE) athlete Irene Jerotich today recorded the fastest time ever on Kenyan soil to win the Women's Nairobi Marathon. The victory puts her team Cyclone into the lead of the GROE Women's Challenge after the first of four marathons. In a tough contest, Kenyan Jerotich recorded a time of 2:32:46 beating the existing record by over three minutes.

CHICAGO (October 22, 2006) -- Robert K. Cheruiyot (KEN) outsprinted Daniel Njenga (KEN) today to win an exciting LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon in two hours, seven minutes 35 seconds. In the women's race, Berhane Adere (ETH) stayed back and attacked late to win in 2:20:42. Galina Bogomolova (RUS) was second in 2:20:47 and Benita Johnson (AUS) moved up to third in 2:22:36.
