Melissa Moon wins Mt Washington climb.
Melissa Moon triumphed over defending champion Anna Pichrtova of the Czech Republic in winning the annual Mt Washington mountain race in New Hampshire.
Moon described the race as a cat and mouse affair with Pichrtova, all the way up the tough 7.6 mile slog to the summit of 6288 ft.
The twice world mountain running champion kicked clear 300m from the finish. Moon recorded 1h 10m 11s, 15s ahead of Pichrtova, just missing the race record by three seconds.
