New Zealand Athletics

Carolynne Tassie of Kumeu Auckland finished seventh in the IAU 24 hour world challenge in Taiwan over the weekend.

The 47 year old administration clerk who has a best distance of 222km 220m for 24 hours of running achieved in 2004, completed 212.348 km.

The women's title was won by Sumie Inagaki, of Japan, in 237.144km.
A Japanese athlete Ryoichi Sekiya won the men's title with a distance covered of 272.936km.

The event was held around a 1km loop, in the Dajia Riverside Park of Keelung River in Taipei. The road became muddy after rain in the night.
