New Zealand Athletics


Rowan Hooper won the Canterbury 10km title in 30m 2s, beating Matt Smith by seven seconds. Julia Scones won the women's title in 38m.

The Wellington senior title went to Tim Hodge in 31m 16s,from Dougal Thorburn, Vicki Humphries won the women's in 36m 45s.

Waikato Champs

Waikato titles went to Michael Pugh in 31m 17s, three seconds ahead of Iain MacDonald and Johanna Ottosson 38m 7s, from Philippa Durkin 38m 20s. Sarah McSweeney won the W19 5km in 17m 44s, 22 seconds ahead of Camille Buscomb.

Otago Champs

Luke Hurring won the Otago title held in conjunction with the Clyde to Alexandra 10km road race in 30m 15s, beating Auckland visitor Robbie Johnston 30m 36s. Kellie Palmer ran a fast 34m 53s for the women's title, beating Sarah Chisnall 35m 45s.

Auckland Champs

Sam Dobson out-sprinted defending champion Scott Winton for the Auckland title in 31m 47s, two seconds ahead of Winton. Maria Akesson won the women's 10km in 35m 48s, nearly three minutes ahead of Melanie Burke.

Hawke's Bay 10k Title

Neville Smith won the Hawkes Bay Gisborne 10km title, on the Norton Road circuit in hot windy conditions in 32m 35s. Katie Harris won the W19 5km title in 21m 16s.
