LORRAINE MOLLER TO RE-IGNITE THE LYDIARD WAY
Olympic marathon bronze medallist Lorraine Moller is to present two coaching workshops in New Zealand during February. Moller will travel to New Zealand from her home in Boulder, Colorado, for Powerade, the Lovelock Davies Athletics Foundation and Athletics New Zealand.
Moller's visit will be especially pertinent as she has recently expressed concern about a decline in interest in New Zealand in the coaching principles of legendary New Zealand athletics coach Arthur Lydiard. Moller, the co-founder of the Lydiard Foundation in the United States, wishes to renew affirmation of Lydiards methods and demonstrate a fresh 21st century application of them. She will call on her own extensive coaching experiences of the Lydiard way.
Moller is recognised as an outstanding speaker and is a recently published and acclaimed author. She is very well known in New Zealand and around the athletics world. The 1992 Olympic marathon bronze medallist attributes much of her success as a runner and as a coach to training in the Lydiard way.
Her two presentations will be in Wanganui on 17th February and in Auckland on 18th February and are free to all members the public.
The presentations will focus on coaching runners of all ages and abilities.
