New Zealand will have a team of ten competing at the World Track and Field Championships in Osaka starting on 25 August.
The team was confirmed this week as the athletes assembled in Cairns for training and competition before travelling on to Osaka next Tuesday.
An addition to the team from those previously announced is Gareth Hyett, who will compete in the 1500m. Marathon runner Dale Warrander has withdrawn due to a recurring injury, while Adrian Blincoe was nominated for the 5000m, but has withdrawn. Kimberley Smith has been entered in both the 5000m and 10,000m, but indications are that she will compete in the 10,000m.
