Cape Town - Mluleki Nobanda wins the Two Oceans
in 3:09:21, ahead of Kaserai Sita in a closely fought
race. Sita clocked 3:10:58. Hungarian athlete, Simone
Staicu won the Women's in a fine 3:37:32

The Two Oceans marathon, to be run over 56km on Saturday,
is shaping up as a classic confrontation between the
pedigree distance racers and the ultra-marathon work-horses.
No doubt the record prize money of R150 000 apiece
to the male and female winners played a role in bringing
the likes of Abner Chipu, Mluleki Nobanda, Nollies
du Toit and Simona Staicu to the Two Oceans starting

London Marathon : Hendrick Ramaala
goes sub 2:09 for the 1st time posted 13 Apr
Ramaala assured himself a place on the team for Paris,
if he so desires, with a Top 10 finish at London in
a new PB time of 2:08:58. Ian Syster followed Ramaala
with a sub 2:10 performance of 2:09:18 .. and in the
process he captured a place to the World Champs.

marathoners tackle London posted 11 Apr
It is hoped that by this Sunday afternoon, the South
African men's marathon team for the IAAF world championships
in Paris in August will have doubled in size to four.
Hendrik Ramaala and Ian Syster will be contesting the
famous London Marathon on Sunday, in their final attempts
to dip under Athletics South Africa's (ASA's) world
championship qualifying time of two hours 11 minutes.
