Bloemfontein South Africa - One of South Africa's
most successful athletes ever, Zola Budd, makes the
trip to the London Marathon, which will take place on
Sunday 13th April.
The South African born athlete who went on to perform
with great distinct for England in the mid-80's, returns
to London this weekend to make her debut over the 42K
distance.
How times have changed, Zola-Budd Pieterse, as she
is now known, was once a world-beater who rightly should
have gone on to assure her place in running history.
Unfortunately, the world was never able to see this
athlete realise her true potential, and she returned
to South Africa a broken person in 1988.
She married and gave birth to 3 children, however her
love for the sport once again 'rekindled', and she now
makes the trip not so much as a competitor who thrives
on winning, but as a runner who thrives on enjoyment
and her own competitve challenges.

Yes, I am very much a supporter of Zola Bud-Pieterse
