The beautiful French city of Cannes will be the setting for the 20th European Athletics Congress on April 14th.

Elections will take place for the post of European Athletics President, two Vice Presidents, Treasurer, and thirteen positions on the Council along with the Development and Competition Committees.

50 prominent athletics administrators from 30 countries are seeking election to three important European Athletics committees.

Christian Milz, Director General of European Athletics said “I have been greatly heartened to see such a wide selection of candidates have allowed their names to go forward for election to our Council, Competition and Development Committees.

23 candidates will contest the election for the Council, which, along with the elections for the President, Vice-President and Treasurer, mean that over half of our Member Federations will have a candidate in the contest for the top decision making forum at our Athletics Parliament, which is a very welcome development for our democracy.

30 Member Federations have put candidates forward for positions and the calibre of the candidates is extremely high, linking some very experienced and successful officials with a number of former star athletes and I am very confident that there is the right mix of people to bring the sport onto the next level for the next four year period.”

The CV’s of all the candidates is available on the link below and full coverage from Cannes will be available on the European Athletics website, throughout the Congress.
