The IAAF Diamond League is delighted to announce the distribution of event disciplines for the 2014 season.
Commencing on 9 May 2014 in Doha (QAT), the fifth season of the IAAF Diamond League comprises 14 of the best invitational track and field meetings in the world. The meetings are spread across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the USA, and compose the top tier of the IAAF’s global one-day meeting competition structure. [Read more…]

Three more Olympic gold medallists and one world champion have been added to the star-studded roster for the 2013 Shanghai Diamond League meeting on 18 May. Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, British long jumper Greg Rutherford, and Ethiopian distance legend Meseret Defar have joined the entry lists for the second meeting in the IAAF’s 2013 Diamond League calendar, while world sprint hurdles champion Jason Richardson has been lined up to face Olympic champion and world record holder Aries Merritt. Liu Xiang for Shanghai
China’s Liu Xiang defends his Shanghai Diamond League title on May 19th, taking on Daegu gold medallist Jason Richardson of the USA. In last year’s controversial IAAF World championship final in Korea where Liu’s arm clashed with the arm of Cuban Dayron Robles, Richardson was the man to benefit, lifting a surprise gold.
