In the women\u2019s 100-metre hurdles Whyte crossed the finish line in 13.09 seconds securing the silver medal. \u201cIt was not my best race. But I&#8217;m happy. I wanted to win a medal for the team and for my country\u201d. Whyte adds, \u201cI&#8217;m glad I came here to see a world event, to see where I sit and to see what I need to do for next year.\u201d<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Christie Gordon of Edmonton, Alta., also lined up in the 100-metre hurdles final where she placed seventh in 13.48 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Dontae Richards-Kwok of Mississauga, Ont., advanced through round 1 of the men\u2019s 200-metres crossing the line in fourth place with a time of 21.26 seconds. Richards-Kwok later finished seventh in his semi final heat with a time 21.11 seconds and did not advance to the final. &#8220;The race was alright; I think I executed well. I had a better run technically in the semi final race than in the earlier heat including a better second 100m.\u201d Dontae is now looking ahead to tomorrow\u2019s 4&#215;400-metre relay semi final at 3:35pm local time along with Tremaine Harris of Markham, Ont., Philip Osei of Toronto, Ont., and Michael Robertson of Ottawa, Ont.<\/p>\n<p>Krysha Bayley of Edmonton, Alta., finished sixth overall in the women\u2019s long jump final with a mark of 6.36 metres. \u201cI am not too happy with my result; I came here wanting to medal. Overall it was a great experience and I am definitely looking to do better next time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Canadian Action continues on Thursday<\/p>\n<p>The women\u2019s 4x100m relay semi final will take to the start line at 2:20pm local time.
