The Music Marathon 2015 comes to town this weekend in the coastal town of Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote in the Canary Islands.<\/p>\n

Music Marathon Events<\/h3>\n

The Music Marathon events under the banner of Kenneth Gasque Events has been on the calendar for a number of years and combines music and exercise participation, bringing a vibe to the avenue that all can involve themselves in.<\/p>\n

The event starts and finishes on the Beach Avenue by the \u201cPlaya Grande beach\u201d In front of the Apartamentos Los Cocoteros.<\/p>\n

The Course<\/strong><\/p>\n

The route for the Music Marathon 2015 is a 1 loop course for the 5Km, 2 Loop course for the 10Km and 4 loop course for the 20Km.<\/p>\n

The Music Marathon route 2015<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The START and FINISH line is at the Beach Avenue by the \u201cPlaya Grande beach\u201d In front of the Apartamentos Los Cocoteros.<\/p>\n

You run towards the Matagorda, pass the \u201cHotel San Antonio\u2022 and turn right before the \u201cHotel Las Costa\u201d.<\/p>\n

You run down to the beach and make a left turn.<\/p>\n

Once you reach the beach avenue again you turn left and return back to the START\/FINISH line to complete 1 loop of 5 km.<\/p>\n

There will be and aid station around the “Street Italia” which you will pass 2 times on each loop.<\/p>\n

5km is 1 loop
\n10km is 2 loops
\n20km is 4 loops<\/p>\n

A personal message from the race director<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

“Music Marathon Festival intention is to increase tourism on Lanzarote, by creating a new sports and cultural event, which is EXTRAORDINARY.<\/em><\/p>\n

This event is created so that everyone can participate, with a kids run, you can either walk or run on the route where there is live music which animates participant and spectators, then ends with a concert.<\/em><\/p>\n

The short-term goal is to fill Puerto del Carmen up with happy and active people. The long intended goal of this event is to increase the quality tourism in Lanzarote<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

Project background \/ milestones and expected results: Bring the smile back to Puerto del Carmen<\/p>\n

Music Marathon Festival was started in 2008 due to the world crisis created, the tourists number has dropped to 60% in Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote.<\/p>\n

Our help is help for self-help, with the motto we have to do something and NOW, the only thing we can have in the first place is to bring people to the event, giving them a beautiful and very different experience, which helps to bring more tourists to Lanzarote and thereby improve the local economy, as well as the 2 different help organizations we also encourage the participants to support.<\/p>\n

This process starts by word of mouth locally, internationally through journalists and other media using our tourist office.<\/p>\n

It is our hope that tourists who are here on the day will support the event either as a participant or spectator, usually on a weekly 30,000 tourists and we expect a group size between 500 to 1000 first year<\/p>\n

Project \/ activities<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Half Marathon races (20,000m)<\/p>\n

Quartz Marathon races (10,000m)<\/p>\n

Walk (5,000m)<\/p>\n

Kids’ race (800m) (1,609m)<\/p>\n

Wheelchair races (5,000m)<\/p>\n

The route is an out route home as implemented 1, 2, or 4 times.<\/p>\n

On the route is der6 entertainment places (with live music) which is passed on out and back the way it is, there is music for every 500 meters<\/p>\n

After the event, there is little dining and socializing to music finishing with a major concert for all, in front of the start and finish area at Playa Grande on Avenida de Los Playas.<\/p>\n

Band & Entertainment<\/strong><\/p>\n

There will be 6 to 8 bands and 3 Dj which in turn plays on the 6 scenes and we finish with a finale concert at the goal area<\/p>\n

There will be local bands and musicians from Puerto del Carmen and Lanzarote + head band from Tenerife<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
