Ok! Things are getting interesting.
Some decent running on vacation including a 5k on an extremely tough trail (steep hills, sand) time fairly irrelevant (17:04) but was only 4s behind a guy who runs an 8:59 3k!
Back in the UK now and did a session with the club today (15 guys, I was the 14th fastest :'D). Undulating road loops 2k, 4k, 2k off ~2:30 rest.
2k - 6:29 (3:09, 3:19)
4k - 12:40 (3:10, 3:04, 3:19, 3:07)
2k - 6:30 (3:06, 3:24)
The 2k loop was pretty much 1k downhill, 1k uphill hence the times. All felt pretty good although a bit of plantar fasciitis flaring up I need to keep an eye on. Weight is steady at ~75/76kg.
There is a fast 10k up in Leeds at the weekend which I'm strongly considering given the fitness seems to be coming...
