sub 40 10 k. Please advise - robbie_1000 - 17-03-2009

New 10k pb 42.38 on my road course that i'll race again later in the year.
Here come the excuses, the ahr mhr was all messsed up because my hr strap kept on dropping off my chest.
Was hoping for a sub 40 today :duh: but i guess another PB will do:p
I was using that feature on the Garmin 305 which for the majority of the way round kept saying that i was 50m behind my other best time which was quite off putting.:noway:

Going in the right direction so thats always a good thing

Cheers
Rob

Am i progressing as you expected in order to reach sub 40?
Is a drop in 20secs since my last race at my level improvement enough?
So i'm looking at around june/july time on current progress rate to dip below 40mins... if no injuries occur

Rob once you do the session 5x2000m in around 7 min 50 you will certainly be ready for a sub 40 minute 10k, you simply have to get it right on race day and that is the learning experience

and from my coaching experience this is an area an athlete has to learn to do

Do it on the day

and Yes, you are progressing well and it is only a matter of time before you realise the different level you are at

Good luck with this realisation as it is waiting to be realised

you will cope Rob, your sessions have shown you should cope

race day will come naturally if you don't add too much importance to it
