5x2k R90 this morning.

6:55 (144, 153, 113)
6:48 (151, 157, 116)
6:50 (150, 158, 118)
6:49 (152, 158, 120)
6:35 (155, 164, 124)

Weight 76.5kg (!!)

Early (7am) and legs a bit fatigued from the race + 2.5h bike yesterday so not spectacular... but solid enough. In defense of my legs the track was quite wet/slippy and I had to dodge a lot of angry ducks throughout!

Jamie, give yourself time to consolidate before pushing on with the training. Training slightly below pace will give your body a chance to absorb training more effectively

the consistency of training will benefit more than high quality followed by dips in the overall training pattern

moving in right direction

6x1k R60 today at the track.

3:14 (145, 157, 121)
3:13 (149, 164, 132)
3:14 (151, 164, 137)
3:14 (156, 164, 139)
3:15 (156, 165, 139)
3:11 (158, 167, 142)

Weight 78kg

Pretty pleased with the 1k's today, consistent and a fair bit quicker than last cycle despite windy conditions. Got the heart going a bit better, too.

2h03m long run over the weekend (~29k) which felt really loose and easy.

Planning to take it super easy for the rest of this week with some jogging, spinning and splashing around as a mini-taper into the 70.3 Tri on Saturday.

1:19 for the 21k in the triathlon on Sat on a very hilly/windy course and after a tough bike and swim. Lots of v. fast runners behind! Unfortunately was disqualified for going the wrong side of a cone on the bike course (!!) so forfeited the 30-34 age group British title Sad. Good, hard, day out though.

wow, sounds a tad harsh, thought they gave a time penalty

1st in the Duathlon yesterday with a 35:25 10k before the bike and a 17:30 5k to finish. Both quite hilly (~100m) and a hard 44k bike between.

Really happy with the race and looking forward to kicking off he next cycle on Thurs. Legs pretty tight today so taking it easy and will do very easy runs tomorrow/Weds.

2 cycles to go before marathon.

Cheers,
Jamie

sounds good Jamie

good to hear the engine is starting to tick over

do watch the legs, no need to bang them too much before the 43k

Understood... although I wouldn't mind trying to put down a decent 5k in the next few weeks if the legs allow Wink.

Tightness much better today and ended up trotting around a 15k at lunch feeling pretty snappy.

Jamie, whereas you can do the 5 x 2k session towards the marathon, I would begin to focus more on marathon pace runs

if you do the 5k, you may achieve a nice time, but it could slightly fry your marathon

hope this helps
