How to train - Raginglynx - 21-11-2010

This was actually something complete different than what I had expected. I thought it was a cross-training track, but instead it was like mountainclimbing combined with fallen trees, cliffs and downhill running in mud and stones.

It was a 1.5k track which you ran over and over again until 90 min had passed.

So unfortunately there was no chance to keep a pace, and almost no chance to increase pace after 1 hour. I was happy to manage at all Smile

There were a lot of tough work for the thighs because of the climbing.

How do you propose we change next weeks program?

rgds,
Christian

PS. Is it ok to give a link to my blog here? Even if it isn't on time-to-run.net yet?

one would have thought the website would have given you a clue as to what to expect and hence me writing

well then 60 minutes of damage control and easy Sunday pace and then it will be interesting to see if you have any energy left Wink

now best to recover from efforts and to consider 2 days recovery as minimum

let me know how the legs go and then we can chat after that

ps.. regarding to blog .. have sent you message

Hi TheEd

Feel a little, but only little fatigue in the thighs. also have sore muscles, but mostly in the back.

In these two recovery days, do you suggest I should run relaxed or not run at all?

rgds,

Christian

light running to aid recovery .. 20 to 30 minute jog maximum

Cheers and enjoy

Time: 25:56
Distance: 5.35
Avg Pace: 4:51
Avg HR: 161
Avg Cadence: 91

Haven't looked at the graph yet, but there seems to be something wrong with my HR-monitor as you can see from my high HR. Need to clean it good probably.

How about tomorrows training and later in the week?

Christian

Have you recovered? no events, climbing over rocks and trees planned for this weekend Wink .. they call them weekend warriors Smile

depending on how the legs feel will determine where you pick up in the cycle

Cheers

I will try to keep away from the valleys and mountains. Wink
But it is very tempting though to through yourself out when it is such a snow-white landscape..

The legs feel fully recovered now and I'm ready for some action.

cheers,
Christian

Hi Christian .. you must be careful that you don't develop a pattern that can throw your running out

floorball one week and obstacle courses the following

and if you do want to do such things, then this is fine but you must realise that at times it can come at a cost to your running, so as long as you are not looking for direct running results during this period then all is fine.

a forewarning so as to avoid future complications

so enjoy for now and maybe consider doing the Build Up routine now

http://www.time-to-run.com/training/10k/buildup.htm

as the structure is more flexible and it will also provide you with a good start and foundation to build on

take a look and consider
