How to train - Raginglynx - 15-03-2011

Hi TheEd!

At Saturday's run with the 5k paced run I came to retchings again close to the end. I read a little about it and will try to change my food intake 4-5 hours before a run. It seems there are some different reasons that can lead to retchings and diarrea, and they are closely related..

One thing might be to lay off with the coffe 5 hours before running :S

The Sundays run I had to skip - didn't have the time. Yesterday I ran the 1 hour relaxed run and today the 400 m intervals. Felt very good. No indications of retchings at least Wink

The race on this Sunday is the Gothenburg half marathon seeding race, that is 10.5 km long. It will be fun. Any tips?

rgds,
Christian

Any tips .. avoid coffee before the race Wink

do you take milk with your coffee?

Thank you!

Nope, I don't drink milk with it Smile

coffee can often act as a diuretic (sp. diaretic) and if this is the consequence of coffee then best to cut it out

do you have a high daily milk intake or not?

and getting your eating routine right, is a very important part of getting the athlete's correct armour sorted out

The thing is, it's when I really dug into getting my eating routine on the right track in first half of 2010 it all started. Before that I had no problems.. :S

The physician didn't believe it was lactose intolerance, but I have left loads of samples in the laboratory and one was for that as well..

For now I'll try to cut out on the coffee many hours before running, and we'll have to see what the tests show, but I believe it's something more, because it's still not good when I don't drink coffee, just more managable Smile

Hi C .. in 2010 did you do a routine as what you are training on now

with consistent training and at the same hour comes a change in body functions

the training changes the metabolism and is all part of the runner's development

so instead of seeing it as a problem try to adapt your eating habits to better accommodate your training routine

routine is what develops consistency

everything is inter-related

good to be a runner

Hi!

Today and yesterday I've felt a little slow and tired both around and during the runs. At home today two of my children caught the what we in Sweden call the Winter-puke-sickness.. Hope I don't get that.

How do you propose I plan tomorrow and saturday? Usually the race is on Saturday, but this time it's on Sunday, so there will be one more day to fill.

rgds,
Christian

Today I feel almost fully recovered. I managed to do the 400 m intervals without too much problem. Only saw that my heart rate was a little high.

Yesterday I did a very very easy 1 hr run. Then I still had small discomforts in the stomach, but not much enough to stay out of running.

Next weekend I will try to do a race again. This time an 8k race (actually 7777m) in Gothenburg. Big Grin
