The runner&#8217;s victory represents a new world record after surpassing the record of 58:01 set by Kamworor in Copenhagen in 2019.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Kibiwott Kandie sets a new world record (57:32) in the Valencia Half Marathon<\/h3>\n<p>Four men have improved the previous world record: the winner, Jacob Kiplimo, Rhonex Kipruto and Alexander Mutiso of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.time-to-run.com\/kenya\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kenya<\/a><br \/>\nFor the women, the winner was Genzebe Dibaba with a time of 1h05:18<br \/>\nCarlos Mayo, second best Spanish time in history<\/p>\n<p>In addition, three more men have bested the previous world record: Jacob Kiplimo (57:37), Rhonex Kipruto (57:49) and Alexander Mutiso (57:59), confirming that the Valencia circuit is the best in the world for achieving great race times and setting records.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s race, the winner was the Ethiopian Genzebe Dibaba with a time of 1h05:18, followed by Sheila Chepkirui with 1h05:39 and then the 2019 winner Senbere Teferi with 1:05:51.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Second best Spanish time in history<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Among the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalbuzz.net\/europe\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spaniards<\/a>, the debutant Carlos Mayo achieved the second best time in history in the half-marathon with a time of 1h00:06, lowering the time achieved by Juan Antonio &#8216;Chiki&#8217; P\u00e9rez (1h01:30) last year in the Valencia Half-Marathon.
