Tel Aviv Gillette Marathon by Tel Aviv-Jaffa municipality is a dazzling success<\/p>\n

Tel Aviv Marathon 2012<\/p><\/div>\n

25,000 runners partook in the Tel Aviv Gillette Marathon, record number of participates \u2013 the largest race ever to take place in Israel<\/p>\n

Marathon Winner:\u00a0Sammy Too From Kenya, in a time of 02:15:15<\/p>\n

2012 Tel Aviv Gillette Marathon took place this morning with a record number of participants.<\/p>\n

Some 25,000 runners of all ages and from all across Israel partook in the largest professional race ever and enjoyed a particularly good weather. Over 100,000 people came to watch, cheer and enjoy performances and events of the Marathon Holiday throughout the city.<\/p>\n

At 06:30 am Mayor of Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality, Ron Huldai, kicked off the full marathon race:<\/p>\n

“Good morning Tel Aviv! This morning the largest race ever to take place in Israel kicks off\u2026<\/p>\n

2,000 runners in the full marathon race and 25,000 runners in all 7 races.<\/p>\n

I am delighted to host participants from some 43 countries around the world.<\/p>\n

We have wonderful weather for you and now all left is to kick off the race!”<\/p>\n

This year, runners were offered a unique urban route, passing through all of the city’s main streets to provide the tens of thousands of runners and supporters a unique running experience including the city’s most attractive sites and streets, such as Dizengoff street, Rothschild Boulevard, Azrieli Towers, Sarona complex, Ramat Hahayal, Rabin Square and more.<\/p>\n

The city of Tel Aviv was all holiday for the marathon, offering events and festivity throughout the city.<\/p>\n

A unique cheering kit was distributed to some 250,000 households in Tel Aviv, inviting to partake in the various marathon events.<\/p>\n

The many participants enjoyed music stages along the courses, benefits and pampering at coffee houses and restaurants along the running courses, a family picnic area and activities for the entire family at Rabin Square.<\/p>\n

This year there were 7 running courses at varying degrees of difficulty, including a special 420 meter long children race and non-competitive 4.2 kilometer “Running is all in” course allowing thousands of runners of all ages and levels participate in the various races.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
