As of today, the TCS Amsterdam Marathon has a new logo. The logo was officially unveiled this afternoon by TCS CEO, Mr Natarajan Chandrasekaran, alderman Eric van der Burg and Le Champion\u2019s Director, Simone Richardson, at the official residence of the Major of Amsterdam. <\/p>\n
The TCS Amsterdam Marathon, the Netherlands\u2019 largest marathon, has expressed its aspirations to become one of Europe\u2019s largest marathons. Currently the TCS Amsterdam Marathon is already one of the world\u2019s most appealing marathons, as the city of Amsterdam attracts literally thousands of participants from abroad. The new logo is very much in keeping with this image: It has a clearly recognizable international character, featuring a runner and the typical architecture of Amsterdam for which the city is internationally renowned.<\/p>\n
\u201cTogether with Tata Consultancy Services, the TCS Amsterdam Marathon is embarking on a new phase of development, for which this logo is perfectly suited,\u201d said Simone Richardson, Director of Le Champion and organizer of the event. \u201cIn 2012, we aim to focus specifically on the further growth of every aspect of the marathon. We therefore expect to already attract a field of some 37,000 participants to Amsterdam for the start of next year\u2019s event.\u201d<\/p>\n
“We are pleased to link up our brand and company to the TCS Amsterdam marathon, which is fast becoming one of the foremost international events in this field. The new logo represents both the rich tradition behind the city of Amsterdam and this progressive ambition to make it one of the world’s top marathons,” said John Lenzen, vice president and global head of marketing at Tata Consultancy Services.<\/p>\n

The 2011 edition of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon, in which 83 different nationalities participated, is already known as one of the best ever. The TCS Amsterdam Marathon has hence become the jewel of the crown of all international events in Amsterdam and contributes significantly to the city’s Olympic ambition.
