\nKimberley Smith finished second in 32m 6s. Race won by Caroline Kilel of Kenya in 31m 58s, with Misiker Demissie of Ethiopia third in 33m 8s.<\/p>\n

Smith\u2019s best 10km on the road is 31m 23s in Atlanta Georgia in July last year.<\/p>\n

POLAND
\nSzczecin, 25 June; Adrian Blincoe finished sixth in the 1500m at the Janusza Kusoci\u0144skiego memorial meeting in 3m 38.48s. Double Commonwealth Games silver medallist Nikki Hamblin was eighth in the 800m in 2m 3.49s.<\/p>\n

AUCKLAND
\nNorth Harbour Cross Country, Long Bay Regional Park \u2013 25 June 2011
\nDeclan Wilson fresh from retaining his senior boys\u2019 title at the New Zealand secondary schools cross country championships in Ashburton last week, triumphed over the senior runners at the North Harbour cross country championship on Saturday.
\nWilson went neck and neck with previously unbeaten over country this season Stephen Lett. Over the final 200m Wilson had the leg speed to out-kick Lett to narrowly win the 4000m race in 12m 3s. Lett was just one second behind with Alex Parlane third in 12m 8s.
\nWilson said that it was good to get the racing experience in the combined juniors and seniors race.
\n\u201cWhen the pace is up you feel like you can go a lot faster and you\u2019re feeling really great after a win like that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

To beat Lett was also a plus for Wilson.
\n\u201cI\u2019ve been seeing him running for the last few years and I\u2019ve been thinking I really want to come up and race this guy and do well, so today was just the positives.\u201d
\nJunior Annika Pfitzinger also won the combined race with the seniors and masters. Pfitzinger covered the 4000m in 14m 23s, 16 seconds faster than master Rachel Penney with a further 13 seconds to the first senior Robyn Young.
\nMagnus Whyte won the men 16 4000m in 13m 18s, from Declan\u2019s brother Finn, while Laura Cowling just won the women 16 2000m in a close finish with Audrey Gregan and Denise Mendonca.<\/p>\n

HASTINGS
\nHawkes Bay Gisborne Cross Country Championships, Lyon\u2019s Farm Maraekakaho Road \u2013 25 June 2011
\nNeville Smith won the senior 12km in 48m 32s, from Eric Speakman 48m 58s. Megan Grant won the senior women\u2019s 8km in 42m 41s. Ross McIntyre won the masters 8km in 32m 53s, nearly two minutes ahead of Phil McKay (34m 40s). The master women\u2019s 6km went to Andrea Williams in 30m 37s from Annie Kane 30m 52s. Grace McConnochie took out the W19 6km in 25m 20s. Georgia Harris won the W16 4km in 18m 17s and Toa Elphick-Iaveta the M16 6km in 24m 16s.<\/p>\n

\nRace Walking NZ 15km Championships \u2013 25 June 2011
\nWorld Champs 50km walk representative Quentin Rew and Graeme Jones dead-heated in 1h 14m 44s , with Matthew Holcroft third in 1h 19m 45s. Rew and Jones carried on to 30km, Rew recording 2h 27m 49s, eight minutes ahead of Jones. Alana Barber won the women\u2019s 15km in 1h 28m 9s, from Rachel Gilberd 1h 33m 53s and Terri Grimmett 1h 36m 27s.<\/p>\n

\nTom Verney (Jnr) Memorial Cross Country, Stratford Race Course \u2013 25 June 2011
\nKarl Dravitzki won the senior 9000m in 32m 47s, Nathan Coombes was second in 33m 1s with Scott van Dyke third in 34m 7s. Matt Baxter won the M19 6000m in 20m 55s, 25 seconds ahead of Luke McCallum with Chaz Hall third in 21m 29s. Hannah Sturmer W19 won the combined women\u2019s 6000m race in 27m 18s. Master Janice McCallum W45 was second in 28m 40s with Nicola Well W35 third in 28m 48s. Rodney Gillum won the 6km walk in 38m 48s with Jean Taylor the winner of the women\u2019s walk in 45m 12s.<\/p>\n

\nManawatu-Wanganui cross country, Massey University \u2013 25 June 2011
\nHugh Abbiss won the senior 10,340m in 38m 17s, from David Lovelock and Andrew Davenport. Rob Dabb M50 was the best of the masters in 42m 38s. The walk went to Darol Pointon in 1h 11m 45s. The senior women 7635m was won by Gemma Cartwright in 33m 34s from Ashley Clements in 34m 16s. Wendy Cottrell-Teahan won the master women 4925m in 20m 26s. M19 Sam Hopper, W19 Meredith Paterson, M16 Liam Woolford, W16 Elizabeth Stannard.<\/p>\n

\nJames Richardson won the race around Wilton Substation (Chartwell), Odells Reserve (Khandallah) and Mt Victoria in 1h 54m. Jesse Patel was second in 1h 55m with Rees Buck third in 1h 55. Angela Leck led in the women in 2h 1m from Natalie Gaskin 2h 12m and Jackie Mexted 2h 12m.<\/p>\n

\nMatt Harris won the 9000m in 28m 33s, from Simon Gannaway 28m 54s and Tane Cambridge 29m 36s. Martin Lukes M40 was the best of the masters in 30m 18s. Nicki McFadzien won the women\u2019s 5140m in 17m 38s, from Sarah McSweeney 19m 30s and Sia Svendsen 19m 39s. The W19 went to Flora Brocherie 18m 41s from Jaye Atkin 19m 1s and Chelsea Beaton 19m 9s. Rosa Flanagan won the W16 in 18m 16s from Pip Trevella 19m 15s and Kiri Atkin 19m 24s. Fiona Gilroy W40 was the best of the master women in 19m 48s. \nDaniel Balchin won the senior 10,400m in 36m 1s, from Dougal Thorburn 36m 18s and Callan Moody 36m 30s. Kirsty Morris won the women\u2019s 5000m in 20m 21s. M16 5000m to Samuel Bremer 18m 26s, M19 to Anthony Trainor 19m 20s, W19 to Caitlin O\u2019Brien 22m 3s. Sian English won the W16 2500m in 11m 8s.<\/p>\n

INVERCARGILL
\nHeather Skerrett Memorial Crosscountry, Elizabeth Park \u2013 25 June 2011
\nShaun Burgess (St Pauls) made the Heather Skerrett Memorial 4k cross country well and truly his own by claiming his fifth consecutive victory in cold, wet and slippery conditions. Glen Ballam (Inv) set a fast early pace, opening up a significant lead but Burgess patiently closed the gap to pass the national M19 800m champion with around 1km left then increased the margin to win by 30 seconds. Genevieve Bourke (Inv) took the women\u2019s trophy, finishing 8th overall and 1 minute ahead of second placed Debbie Telfer (Inv). The Junior 2k race saw 12 year old Liam Cullen (St Pauls) take the race and boy\u2019s trophy with 14 year old Holly Pierce (Inv) second overall winning the girl\u2019s cup.<\/p>\n
