Day 3 of the Paris 2003 World Track Championships, provided no Middle or Distance event finals, there were however 2 Men’s Semi-finals.<\/p>\n

Men’s 1500m Semi-finals :<\/strong>
\nYet again there were no major upheavels in the procession of the more fancied runners towards the finals. Hicham El Guerrouj produced a performance of assured machurity to win his heat in a time of 3:38.25 closely followed by Portugal’s Rui Silva in 2nd. It was a joy to see the Russian athlete Vyacheslav Shabunin come bounding through over the last 100m to take 5th place in 3:38.60.<\/p>\n

In the 2nd semi, France’s Mehdi Baala showed how he has progressed on the World stage with a controlled performance. Never under any pressure once he took the lead, he won as he pleased in 3:39.73 | results<\/a> |<\/p>\n
