This time last year I thought Khalid Khannouchi was a one course wonder. Talking about the Chicago Marathon, of course.

Then he hit London [ 2:05:38 WR ] and he changed a lot of sceptics thoughts, myself included.

I believe you get the genuine marathon runner, who is not world class on the track however they are most suited towards the marathon. KK definitely falls into this category. But, one can't help thinking that there is a lot more to come from Haile Gebreselasse, who debuted in the very same London 2002 race with a time of 2:06:35.

What do you think, is Khannouchi a 'marathoner supreme' or is his crown to be taken by the Ethiopian genuis?

KK is yet to win a Major Championship Marathon. He needs to win a medal, so that he is able to step into the shoes of the truly great marathoners.

Or is this all rather harsh and the man should be judged on what he has already achieved ?
