Today went on to run the interval session early misty Cape Town morning. I tried something a little different and that was to run on a nearby farm dirt road which was really enjoyable in the Winelands. I managed a far better consistency than I have to date.
1st KM 4:50 @ 145 BPM ran through this K feeling quite relaxed and deliberately held back on a fast finish to see if it would make a difference on the 2nd interval.
2nd KM 4:49 @ 149 BPM for the 1st time running these intervals I managed to hold a consistant pace through the 2nd interval without overreaching both in terms of form or breathing on the 2nd segment.
3rd KM 4:46 @ 154 BPM went a little harder on this final segment as I knew that it was the final one. Held good form, focussed heavily on breathing rythmically which I have been struggeling with particularly on the final interval in these sessions.
Felt very happy with the way this mornings session panned out. Something else I noticed was that my recovery between segments seem to have come around far more quickly than previously getting my HR back down to around 100BPM.
