Target sub 35 after short break from sprint tris - bertrudus - 03-10-2013 I developed a cold over the last couple of days which is moving down to the chest so will give training and racing a miss until it's cleared. I've entered a 10km on 3rd November so may start 10km cycle aiming for this once the cold has gone... Target sub 35 after short break from sprint tris - TheEd - 03-10-2013 probably was hovering there .. give me feedback over the weekend and we will look to ease back in TheEd Target sub 35 after short break from sprint tris - bertrudus - 15-10-2013 hung around for a while but feeling back on form now. Was looking in to starting up the 10 km plan with a target 10km race on 3rd november... Target sub 35 after short break from sprint tris - TheEd - 15-10-2013 have a couple of days of light running and then let me know how things are come Friday then we can consider popping in a 4k or something similar to assess before giving specific sessions hope it all stays smooth and well TheEd Target sub 35 after short break from sprint tris - bertrudus - 16-10-2013 I did long hilly ride at weekend in Italy and 75mins on treadmil yesterday (30 mins at lunchtime and 45mins after work) followed by 30 mins today. Feeling ok getting back in to it. Should I use my 4km time from 3-4 weeks back (13:20) for the 2km sets ? That way I can start a 3 week block from yesterday finishing with a 10km race on 3rd Nov or would you recommend a more gradual approach ? Target sub 35 after short break from sprint tris - TheEd - 16-10-2013 welcome back .. use the 4k time-trial from before and maybe add 5 seconds onto the pace, so you can ease a little bit back into that session if you racing in November the 1k session will let you know how you progressing, the 2k session is always hard ![]() hope this is in-line with your thoughts TheEd Target sub 35 after short break from sprint tris - bertrudus - 17-10-2013 Yes made sense. I did 6x1km (R60) on a 1km stretch of canal bit of a lesson in pace judgement !: 3:16 (tailwind) 3:24 (Headwind) 3:19 (tw) 3:30 (hw) 3:26 (tw) 3:35 (hw) was a bit eager on first rep and HR shot up on later reps definitely lost some running fitness over past 4-5 weeks but a good marker.. Target sub 35 after short break from sprint tris - TheEd - 18-10-2013 pace judgement is probably one of the biggest benefits from the 2k and 1k sessions which can assist you when racing always remember not to exert too much effort into the wind if racing 3 to 4 days later, as sometimes the fatigue can sit in the legs enjoy your weekend TheEd |
