Sub40 goal midlife crisis? - Tallon - 10-04-2016 Hello 5k paced run target pace 4'10 4'21 bpm -- 4'09 bpm 162 4'09 bpm 170 4'14 bpm 175 4'13 bpm 176 tough times. A bit slower then last 5k but more controlled. Kind regards, Sub40 goal midlife crisis? - TheEd - 11-04-2016 How did you feel doing it? TheEd Sub40 goal midlife crisis? - Tallon - 12-04-2016 Hello TheEd: this 5k paced run feels mentally like effort 5/5 but physically it is more 4/5 as it can be sustained. It felt much easier then my last 5k trial but that one was 6 sec faster (4'07). I will just go with a little easier pace and let time and training do its work. It's probably not relevant to think too much about 10sec faster or slower as more factors are involved. I am just a bit worried that not hitting 4'10 in 10k means im not running 'correctly' (relaxed). Kind regards Sub40 goal midlife crisis? - Tallon - 17-04-2016 Hello TheEd: did yesterday the new 10k race with the 2 weeks preparation you prepared for me : Time was 41'30 but distance was a little shorter then 10k and the average pace turned out to be 4'17, exactly the same as the 10k race two weeks ago: 4'03 bpm 141 4'13 bpm 160 4'07 bpm 169 4'15 bpm 177 4'29 bpm 179 (uphill) 4'12 bpm 178 4'13 bpm 180 (strangely feeling fantastically good) 4'20 bpm 177 (weakness kicked in) 4'25 bpm 177 4'19 bpm 184 Looking forward for future training but what should i do: 8 weeks build up or more cycles with same or a little faster target paces ? Thank you for your help! Kind regards, Sub40 goal midlife crisis? - TheEd - 18-04-2016 dang, not nice when the course is not accurate, however, it may be possible that the course is indeed accurate, so wait for the official results are there any 5k park runs in your area next week? Will await your reply TheEd Sub40 goal midlife crisis? - Tallon - 18-04-2016 Hello TheEd, no park runs exists here, but many races are organized these months. I only post and trust my watch data to have comparable data. Last race on my watch 9.69km in 41'30, so the average pace was still 4'17 I understand you want me to do easy runs this week with a 5k trial this weekend? Yesterday and today did do 30' easy. Next 10k i want to participate in will be somewhere in august. so I have 4 months to plan. Temperatures are rising soon so I will have to train at different times and it will affect performance during training. Kind regards, Sub40 goal midlife crisis? - TheEd - 18-04-2016 are there any races this coming weekend? If yes, then do the last week of training and race this weekend thereafter we can discuss what will follow next would you be happy with this arrangement? TheEd Sub40 goal midlife crisis? - Tallon - 18-04-2016 Very happy to follow your instructions. Will do a race this sunday. Distance will be around 6km not flat. I think you want me to race more, and indeed I have been lazy to do longer races after each cycle. Will update on sunday. Many thanks and have a nice week, Sub40 goal midlife crisis? - TheEd - 21-04-2016 Hi Tallon, what have you got planned for this weekend? TheEd Sub40 goal midlife crisis? - Tallon - 24-04-2016 Hello TheEd, did a 6k race today @ around 25úC with these splits: 4'14 bpm 138 4'08 bpm 167 4'19 bpm 173 4'03 bpm 178 4'13 bpm 180 4'14 bpm 170 Race average 4'13. Felt good and recovered well after the race. Have now done 2 times a 10k and 1 time a 6k race in the last 5 weeks with paces around 4'15. Looking back at these first 6 months of training I'm happy with the progress and to have remained injury free. To plan the next 3-4 months which training you suggest? Goal remains sub40 10k. Thank you so much in advance, Kind regards, |
