10K Training Program Question - Newsroom - 08-11-2010

D .. this looks nice and easy and with such caution you should start picking up consistency

and in the same vein .. let's keep it at 4 x 1000m Rest 2 minutes pace 10 seconds quicker than the 2000's .. instead of time look at effort and especially going up the hill no need to try go quicker than 4.15/4.20 ... keep it enjoyable

enjoy

10K Training Program Question - Hyperspace - 09-11-2010

Hey TheEd,

Today's efforts: 4x1Km

Km Time Av HR End HR
1 4:04 144 155
2 4:00 149 162
3 3:58 151 160
4 3:50 154 167

OK had trouble getting off last night prob 2:30am, up at 7:45 so 5:15 sleep. Took it easy all day with a short lunchtime nap.

Nearly didn't go out and do the intervals as immune systems felt close to edge, throat dodgy - however felt just about OK - if not Ive tonked it!

Session felt good - felt enormous float at start of each interval and had to reel in. The hill up was very kind. Was dark so couldn't see watch. Just run to how felt, didnt dig at all. Pleased with times and low HR averages so promising sign. Just need more reps!

30 mins tomorrow? Will update reccovery status in morn...

Cheers,

D

10K Training Program Question - Hyperspace - 10-11-2010

Hey TheEd,

Update on today's recovery. Another late get-off-to-sleep last night...prob managed 6 hours sleep - got to beat that tonight. Not as late as night before however late enough. Conscious not to undo recent routine, so no 30mins easy today, instead going to do a 30-35min brisk walk after eating this evening to relax and unwind from the day.

Will proceed with caution, should I be planning tomorrow with the 1hr easy?

Cheers,

D

10K Training Program Question - TheEd - 10-11-2010

easy running is always good, if you able to do a relaxed hour then great but 30 to 40 minutes would be suffice, no need to turn the screw

Cheers and enjoy

10K Training Program Question - Hyperspace - 11-11-2010

TheEd,

Got a decent 45 min walk in last night so all good.

However had a very challenging night's sleep to say least. Must be the training course I am studying on this week - its got my mind twisted right up.

Got head down at 11pm last night so not late, but didn't get off till 4-4:30am Sad Was a pretty bumpy night - ho hum. Up at 7:45am...somehow managed to get through today's lectures. However now feeling spacey and can detect slight lowering of immune system...:mmm:

A run seems out of the question, so going to tread carefully for next few hours, may be a nap, although this might not be a good idea - might need a hammer to knock me out if have same prob's tonight - am thinking a socialable few alcoholic beverages might be in order with some new collegues this evening - not too many drinks, just enough to raise some light hearted -spiritedness and help the sleep boat on its way!

If I can get things right tonight, can monitor situation in morning for an outing tomorrow so as not to lose recent momentum,

Best rgds,

D

Ps hows things your end? refreshed from you break earlier this week?

10K Training Program Question - Hyperspace - 12-11-2010

TheEd,

Health status: Sore throat and mild flu-like symptoms have entered Sad

Had a few beverages last night - not a late night, was very much needed. Had very tiny signs of the sore throat around y/day afternoon - was hardly noticable! Needed to get out and socialise, shouldve gone out Wed night instead and nipped the lack of social engineering in the bud to prevent the ill-health - you never stop learning do you?

Will have to see how this pans out. Heading to parents this eve to crash out and recovery. Should be able to turn the recovery round and see off the slight ill health quickly I hope. Maybe back on the road by Sun for a waddle or something :jive:

Catch up again soon,

D
