Day 15 Mon 65min easy ~11km

I was running with friends and ran way too long..

Day 16 Tue 10 x 400m @ 92sec

I hit the track at noon. Sun shine from clear sky, 27°C and no wind.

The heat was unbearable.

I have some bad news.

Varicella zoster virus has caused me a neural virus infection on top of my head and the infection has also spread out to my left eye... which might lead to permanent blindness.

No wonder the 10x400 sessions felt pretty hard Big Grin

Now is time for some rest. I'm prescribed for two weeks of complete rest and taking three different antibiotics, an antiviral drug and Codeine. I hope we can set some running goal after I have completely recovered.

Hjelloh!

I'm back in business. The antibiotics have worked their magic and seems like I got lucky this time. The virus never reached my optic nerves. Overall I'm feeling much better now. I still have some minor pain due the damaged nerve endings.

I started with few easy runs on weekend. My plan now is to do the 3rd week of the cycle followed by a 4k TT on sunday to see where I stand at the moment.

Hopefully I can start another cycle the week after. I'd then have 2 full cycles before the 10K race on 31st August.
