1/2 Marathon training - RicardoBarbedo - 21-10-2013

Hi there,

As i can see, there is a thread for each runner feedback on 10k training (Please correct me if I'm wrong).

Since I'm in the last week of the sub 50' training, i will not report on that. I will just post my time on Saturday event.

I'm here because i want to make a 1/2 marathon 1h30<1h45 in March, so i will start a 2 week off training period, followed by 6 week building up and then 12 week half marathon training.

Can you please tell me if this is the right choice? Also, can you please give an insight on how to transform a 10K training on a 21k Training? Should i use the sub 45' or the sub 50'?

Look forward for your reply,

Ricardo Barbedo.

Hi Ricardo and welcome to the forums

you are correct, this thread is for your use

The 10k programs can be used for the half marathon with the simple change to the distance of the long run .. this should be a minimum of 18km, however over the years most athletes have been able to slot a 25km run in every 3 weeks to their routine

build up the distance with caution and all should be fine

over to you as to when you want to post your data

enjoy

Hi there,

The previous plan was delayed because of work. Now, i will try to start over.
Plan:
10K < 45' in October 26.
Half Marathon March 2015 < 1h40.

Will start with the 2 week bulding up plan, then the 3 week <45' x2. Can you tell me what i should post to track my progression?

Cheers,

Ricardo.
