5Km Training - blade321 - 21-06-2010

Hi i was hoping to get some help with some beginner training programs for running the 5km.

My current PB which i achieved today was 22:41.
My first goal for 5Km is to reach 20 min, i can run 5 times a week and have also run a few 10km quite comfortably.

Any advice on ways to improve would be much appreciated as i am currently just doing random distances.

Hi Blade and welcome

please look at the sub 45 minute 10km program

on the day that you would do the 2000m session we would change that session and as you develop closer to 20 minutes we will vary other aspects

take a look and see if the schedule suits you

Ok i have found the 10k training schedule and i will start to follow and relay my progress on here.
Should i change day 3 for 5x1k efforts instead of the 5x2k?

you can change that to 3 x 1500m with Rest 3 minutes and your pace can be at 5km pace

what you could do is do a 1500m time-trial if you would like for me to provide you with exact pace for now
