moving up from 10km to half - bankie - 01-04-2011

I've realised that at my age (47) I've more stamina than speed and so am moving up from 10 to half. I cannot find programmes on the site (plenty of helpful articles and tips though) specifically for half marathon trg. Can anyone help? I've been reducing my time for 10 using the corresponding programmes for 6 months now so am accustomed to these.

According to what is posted by theEd on other threads, the 10k programs are ok for preparing a half marathon, only needing to do a 2 hrs. long run instead of a 1:30. Hope this helps. Rgds. Héctor.

well done Hector and congrats on your first post

appreciated Wink

Hi Bankie, what Hector has mentioned is correct and my apologies for missing your post earlier

the 10km programs only need for the weekend long run to be modified to a longer run to make the half marathon 'doable'

please ask further questions where necessary

Thank you. I've been following various threads in the last year or so. I'm trying myself the sub 40 plan for a half marathon I'm planning to run on May the 8th. It's going to be my first half. My pb on a 10 k is around 43 last october. I'll try to be around 1h 35 min.

Regards.
