Ok. I did go for my Wednesday run. I had been looking forward to it, but did not sleep well last night and did not feel great prior to the run. I didn't have the patience to do a proper warm-up and just got going. I tried to run faster than last week since one of my device seemed to be suggesting that I only made it into zone three for a small portion of my run, which surprised and disappointed me. I did manage to run the first two kms faster than last week, but I knew it would struggle to keep it up so I came in a bit early, running 5.19 km rather than 6.26. However, my average pace did increase to 5.34 (from 5.44 for last week's slightly longer run). I think this is probably my best 5k time for about four years.
My splits were: 5.33; 5.31; 5.38; 5.27; 5.41; and 5.22 for the last 0.19.
Zones and heart rate is all a bit confusing. Probably the most trustworthy indicator is my Oura ring that has my heart rate between 145 and 170 during the run with an average heart rate of 166. My resting heart is around 50.
