Vantaa Marathon 2025 at Tikkurila Sports Park

The event features the traditional marathon, half marathon, marathon relay, and 10K. There is also a special Mini Marathon start for children.

Finnish Championship Marathon Titles Decided at Vantaa Marathon
The 2025 Vantaa Marathon is extra special this autumn, as it will host the Finnish Championship Marathon (SM-marathon) and the SAUL Finnish Championship Marathon (Master’s Marathon). These championship races always draw spectators and add an extra level of excitement to the event. Laura Manninen from the organizing club will compete in the SM-marathon on her home turf in Vantaa. Manninen is an experienced endurance runner, having won multiple Finnish championships and set national records in various distances in the veterans’ categories.

Vantaa Marathon Course and Services
The marathon route mostly follows smooth asphalt roads, forming a 10.5-kilometer loop. Each kilometer is marked according to the full marathon distance, with clear signage at turns and intersections. Safety is ensured by marshals at crossings.

The 10K start is slightly different from the other races. If you’re running the 10K, make sure to check the correct starting location on the organizer’s website or on-site.

For half marathon runners, the kilometer markers are slightly shorter than usual (32 m), and the 10K does not have separate kilometer markings – but with good pacing and cheering, the distance flies by!

The Vantaa Marathon course is known for being flat, fast, and clearly marked. Aid stations are positioned three times per loop, and energy gels are provided 300 meters before the pool-side aid station on every lap.

Participants are welcome to bring their own drinks! Personal drinks must be delivered to the race office next to the baggage storage one hour before the start, in boxes marked with the runner’s bib number. The order of drinks at all stations is: personal drinks – Vantaa Marathon sports drink – water – banana + pickled cucumber.

After finishing, runners receive a snack bag at the finish line, and the traditional coffee and buns are served in the sports hall next to the bag storage area.
