Join the Espoo Rantamaraton atmosphere – September 20, 2025
Location: Espoo, Otaniemi
Distances: Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 km, 5 km, and children’s runs
The event routes pass through Espoo’s gorgeous coastal landscapes, offering runners both physical challenges and scenic beauty. The marathon and half marathon follow Espoo’s famous Waterfront Route (Rantaraitti), where participants enjoy stunning sea views, lush parks, and idyllic shoreline paths. The course is mostly flat, with a few gentle hills adding a pleasant extra challenge.
Marathon and Half Marathon Routes – 2025
All routes are designed to be runner-friendly and to follow the seashore as much as possible. The marathon consists of two laps of the half marathon route, with a small additional loop in Nuottaniemi on the first lap.
Thanks to recent updates, the marathon course is now faster, with significantly reduced elevation differences.
10K and 5K Routes – 2025
Based on participant feedback, the 10K route has been slightly adjusted and the 5K route has been completely redesigned to eliminate the chance of going off course – the updated maps can be found on the event’s website.
The courses have been made smoother and easier by reducing elevation and removing sharp turns.
The 5K is a low level “fun run” but also allows for a competitive run, as official timing will once again be provided!
The Espoo Rantamaraton is a great opportunity to push your limits: a well-organized event, a clear course, and plenty of aid stations along the way.
