On Sunday, May 17 at 10:00 AM, the iconic LHV Maijooks will host a Women’s Half Marathon, runners will gather at the legendary Tallinn Song Festival Grounds in Pirita — a venue rich in culture, symbolism, and energy. From there, the course unfolds through Tallinn’s stunning coastal scenery, blending historic charm with fresh sea air and vibrant race-day atmosphere.

Make History in Tallinn: The First Women’s Half Marathon at Maijooks

Something extraordinary is happening in Tallinn. For the first time ever, Tallinn will host a Women’s Half Marathon, inviting women to take on 21.1 kilometers in a powerful celebration of strength, community, and movement.

Whether you are chasing a personal best, running your first half marathon, or simply embracing the challenge, this race is designed for every woman ready to step forward.

Triple the Energy: The First Women’s Half Marathon Relay

Why run it alone when you can share the journey?

New in 2026, the Women’s Half Marathon Relay brings teams of three women together to complete the 21.1 km distance — approximately 7 km each. Friends, colleagues, training partners — this is your chance to turn a challenge into a shared celebration.

Smooth handovers at the start area, the option to cross the finish line together, individual medals for every runner, and the vibrant Maijooks festival atmosphere make this far more than a race — it’s an experience.

This will be the first women-only half marathon relay in Estonia and the wider region. A new tradition begins here.

Internationally Recognized. Globally Connected.

Starting in 2026, LHV Maijooks is officially a member of AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) — placing the event on the global running calendar and confirming its international quality standards.

Even more significantly, Maijooks is the first women’s running event in the Baltics and Eastern Europe to join AIMS’ global women’s program. This recognition highlights the strength of Estonia’s sporting culture and the rising momentum of women’s running across the region.

Part of a Global Movement

Running is one of the world’s most popular sports — yet fewer than 10% of races are designed exclusively for women. That is changing fast.

Women-only races now have separate world records and rankings, and international organizations are actively supporting women-focused events. The space for women’s running is growing — and Tallinn is now part of that global shift.

Run. Travel. Celebrate.

Women’s running events are becoming powerful reasons to travel, connect, and create unforgettable memories. Combine fitness with friendship. Competition with culture. Challenge with celebration.

Tallinn’s charm, the spring atmosphere of Maijooks, and the iconic Song Festival Grounds create the perfect setting for this new chapter in women’s running.

This is more than a race.
This is history in motion.

Registration is now open.
